There is a famos letter that was published in 1897 of the New York Sun.  A girl of 8 asked the editor if there was such a thing as Santa Claus, as some of her friends told her there was no such thing.

The answer is as true today as 1897:

"Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.  He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy….The most real things in the world are those that neither children not man can see…Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world."

There is no denying we have several challenges as a country, but there is also no denying that as a country we have met, answered and won over deeper challenges in the past.
