I was listening to a series of interviews with current CEO’s of large Corporations. One CEO said, “I would not want to be president now, with all the problems our country is facing.”
I couldn’t believe a CEO would say that out loud! What is he ‘Good-Time-Charlie”?
Anyone who has been in business for more than 5 years knows things go up and down. There is no smooth ride in business. That’s the fun!
So I realized that all the leaders we write books about or avidly read their autobiographies were leaders that got us through challenges. Lee Iacocca, Jack Welch, Rudy Giuliani, all were leaders that gave us hope during dark days.
So leaders stretch to a challenge, followers shrink from a challenge.
Be a leader. Stretch yourself; the rewards are far greater than can be measured
