It is rare to be an entrepreneur or even a CEO of a company without being a salesperson. As small business owners we are always selling. I have discovered some small steps that can lead to big rewards in selling.
You are not important. The challange is to create conversations for others so that they see the value of what we offer. It’’s like you want to see the lightbulb go off in their eyes. Let them shine. Appreciating and understanding our customers or potential customers is key. Our personalities or style is secondary.
Your reputation is your greatest advantage. You may not be important, your reputation is vital to your success. It’s not product, price, or service. Everything comes from your reputation. You build reputation by building honor, trust, keeping your word, being on time to meetings, doing what you said you would do. Reputation will build you strong referrals, customer loyalty and honest communcation with your clients.
